Abstract
This chapter connects inquiry and professional learning in the fresh context of Museum Education. It speaks to a long-standing partnership that involves schools, a university and a natural history museum in Sydney. It portrays the evolution of methods that have captured student understanding and experience to inform the museum of approaches to educational practices. Young people have acted as consultants to the museum, informing design principles in both real and virtual contexts and also ways in which they can be engaged and active agents when visitors to the museum.
