DigiVol: Where in the World Is DigiVol?

A very enterprising DigiVol volunteer, Yolande had the above photo taken of herself wearing the DigiVol T shirt when she was in Reunion, a French island east of Madagascar.There was general agreement by volunteers on that day that it was an inspirational idea and a light bulb moment occurred when a bright spark exclaimed ‘Where in the World is DigiVol?' A volunteer on another day was then inspired to coin the term ‘DigiVolly', as in ‘Where’s Wally’ for a volunteer who provides a photo of their T shirt. And volunteers on the next day, became inspired and so forth…….

We have started a gallery of DigiVolly photos in the DigiVol lab and our latest addition is a photo of 2 DigiVollys, Ron and John wearing their T shirts at a photo shoot at the Eastern Creek Raceway. Some volunteers are up for some fun and are keen to become a DigiVolly. Already,volunteers have gone overseas recently with their T shirt packed and others are plotting their creative photo shoot closer to home.

Recently,we celebrated having digitised 70,000 Malacology specimens and transcribing 100,000 transcriptions online.To mark the occasion our DigiVol manager, Paul Flemons, presented Kim McKay, Director and CEO of the Australian Museum with her very own DigiVol T Shirt, exhorting Kim to join the growing ranks of DigiVolly’s.
